Insurance Adjusters you can Trust!

By Lisa Lelas

Disasters happen! Whether a sudden fire, a burst water pipe, a fallen tree onto the
roof, or storm damage, we can’t anticipate when a disaster might strike, but Richard
Ranciato & Associates can put your mind at ease. They will be there to assist you in
making certain your insurance claim for your damages is covered and restoration is
made as quickly as possible.
Rich Ranciato is the owner of Richard Ranciato & Associates, Licensed Public
Adjusters, LLC which is a state licensed insurance adjusting firm representing
policyholders who incur property damages. He has been a trusted member of the
insurance community for over three decades. Based out of Clinton, he and his team
serve the entire state. They take the worry out of disaster and handle your claim with
your best interest being paramount above all others.
Starting in the business as a 15-year-old teenager, he worked for his dad’s company
doing inventory of personal property. His father Louis is a former Commander of
Detectives for the New Haven Department of Police Services. He was instrumental in
setting up the first Police-Fire investigative teams for the city of New Haven and
oversaw their operation from the outset. After retiring, the elder Ranciato established his
own Public Adjusting firm to assist policyholders.
Rich by the age of 18 began preparing building estimates, determining sometimes
complicated scope, and methodologies of repair predicated on the damages. Before
getting licensed Rich gained experience working for a framer building houses and
eventually as a Restoration Contractor. In 1993 Rich successfully passed the
Connecticut Examinations for licensure as a public adjuster. Rich worked full time with
his father, and eventually opened his own firm.
Richard’s vast work experience has established him as a savvy adjuster while treating
his clients as if they were family. Rich is available 7 days a week. He can also be found
working in the garden or around the house. He enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time
with family.
“Communication is one of my strong points,” he explains, “I wear my heart on my
sleeve. I’m very transparent. I get back to everyone who calls. I understand they may be
in a vulnerable state after dealing with a sudden disaster. I put them at ease. I make the
decisions. My hands are in every claim. My clients get to know me as a trusted friend.”

“We assist by preparing detailed building structure repair estimates, we take a
detailed inventory and prepare computerized spreadsheets detailing value of the
damaged goods. We help with housing, if needed. We are always there for the client.
We never skipped a beat during Covid. I work for the ‘insured,’ not the insurance
companies.”
“There’s no supplement for experience,” he continues, “with over 35 years in the
business, my experience speaks for itself. I wouldn’t be in the business this long if I
wasn’t trustworthy. Honesty and integrity are everything to me.”
Raised in North Haven, Rich now lives here on the shoreline with his fiancé Patty.
They’ve raised five grown children, have two grandkids and one on the way.
“I enjoy my job. So much so, that even if I won the lottery tomorrow, I would still work
because I love helping people. I’ve always represented the consumer, not the insurance
company. I always stick up for the little guy. We are true consumer advocates.”
